History

Prince of Peace Catholic Community was founded in 1991 to serve as a parish home for Catholics living in the west Plano area. Since its inception, the church community has been blessed with the leadership of the late founding Pastor Monsignor R. James Balint. Through his leadership, Prince of Peace Catholic School opened in the fall of 1991 with 39 students. Construction began on our current facilities in 1993 and was completed the following year.

Prince of Peace Catholic Community is currently led by Father Tom Cloherty as Pastor and Father Stephen Ingram as Associate Pastor.  Father Tom Cloherty celebrated his 46th year as a Priest in the Diocese of Dallas. We are blessed that he has been with Prince of Peace for 10 years.  Prince of Peace Catholic School is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas.
