In the spring of 2017, the Diocese of Dallas Catholic Schools Office invited our Pastor, Father Tom, and our Principal, Mr. Evans, to consider moving from the current governance model of Pastor/Principal to the President/Principal model. Father Tom was pleased to accept this invitation since this has been a growing trend for Catholic schools in the recent years. Mr. Evans accepted the appointment as President and our Upper School Assistant Principal at the time, Mrs. O'Sullivan, accepted the appointment as Principal for the 2017-2018 school year. 

Prince of Peace has followed The National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2013 to strategically plan for the future. The national standards and benchmarks include four different standards that a highly effective Catholic school should adhere to: Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality. 

In conjunction with the National Standards and Benchmarks, the governance model divides the roles of the President and Principal as follows: 

Mission and Catholic Identity is the sole responsibility of the President. The President strategically works each day to ensure that the mission and Catholic identity are integrated into all programs of the school. This provides opportunities for student faith formation inside and outside of the classroom.

Governance and Leadership is the sole responsibility of the President. The President is the liaison between all leadership councils and groups in the school that function in a manner to enhance the experience of all students, parents, and teachers. These councils at Prince of Peace include the School Advisory Council (SAC), Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO), and Athletic Advisory Council (AAC). 

Academic Excellence is the sole responsibility of the Principal. As the chief instructional leader, the Principal works to ensure that all students have a strong foundation and are formed into 21st century learners. Innovative instructional practices are tailored to offer students opportunities to grow in areas of critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity. 

Operational Vitality is shared between both the President and Principal. The President strategically implements the facility, technology, financial and institutional advancement plans. The Principal oversees human resource/personnel policies developed in compliance with the diocese. 

On a daily basis, the President spends a majority of his time designing and implementing plans to advance the school as we prepare for the next 5 to 10 years. The Principal is the day-to-day academic and operational leader striving to ensure all students and families love their experience as a member of our amazing community.
