POP Student Ambassadors are an extension of the Office of Admissions. Ambassadors lead prospective family tours, assist at admissions events, and promote a positive and caring culture at POP.
POP Chess Club is open to 2nd-8th graders. We partner with Chess America who provides chess classes (hosted by local chess professionals) across the U.S. Chess Club meets weekly after school. Tournaments are held the last few classes of each program. All participants receive trophies or medals or other prizes; nobody leaves empty-handed! Chess America provides all chess sets and instructional materials.
Cub Scouts
In scouting, boys and girls start with their best "right-now selves" and grow into their very best "future-selves." Activities and experiences are designed to put kids in the middle of the action and prepare them for today and for life.
The Destination Imagination (DI) program fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the fine arts, and service learning. Participants in grades K-8 learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. DI is for all ages and capabilities. Girl Scouts provides students with opportunities to discover the fun, friendship, and power of strong girls working together. Through a variety of enriching experiences including skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, students can best elevate and equip one another for tomorrow.
7th and 8th grade students have a wonderful opportunity to participate in the junior acolyte ministry and serve the entire Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
National Junior Beta Club
National Junior Beta Club is a service-based organization offered to 6th-8th grade students. This organization is another way to demonstrate their dedication to academic excellence, character building, leadership development, and service involvement. For more information, please visit NJBC. Each new member that joins will receive a certificate with a membership card and a pin at the end of the year.
Random Acts of Kindness is a service-based organization for 6th-8th graders. RAK groups make a difference in the POP community and beyond. In RAK meetings and during projects, students experience the virtues of kindness, compassion, hope, charity, and love.
