Now in her seventh year at POP, we're delighted to introduce Mrs. Kendra Kemp! Since 2017, Mrs. Kemp has served as a second grade teacher and grade level team leader, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have Mrs. Kemp transition into a new role as CLC Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.
Mrs. Kemp was born in Westlake, California; moved to Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of six; grew up in Southern California; and is now a bona-fide Texan having resided in DFW since 2018. Mrs. Kemp holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University - Northridge and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership with a certificate in Catholic School Leadership from Creighton University. Prior to joining the faculty at POP, Mrs. Kemp helped to create and successfully launch the transitional kindergarten program at Holy Cross Catholic School, where she also taught first grade and served as an administrator.
Mrs. Kemp comes to school each day with a great devotion not just to teaching, but to teaching the Catholic faith. Mrs. Kemp believes that being able to teach young children about their faith in a school setting is a wonderful gift. She recognizes and sees great importance in cultivating a child's social-emotion skills, academic dexterity, and faithfulness to the Lord as the foundation to both teaching and developing the whole child.
Mrs. Kemp and her husband Kevin are the proud parents of two POP Stars! You can find Mr. and Mrs. Kemp with their sons Grayson and Tanner at many on-campus events including Fall Festival and Serviam Nights. Mrs. Kemp is also an active member of the ACTs community at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she volunteers her time helping coordinate women's retreats and serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. One of Mrs. Kemp's little-known fun facts is that she could ring up to 15 hand bells in one song in high school.
