Started in 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” We truly believe that Catholic schools not only provide students with an exceptional education, but also the opportunity for students' deep spiritual formation.
Per the National Catholic Educational Association: No Catholic school can fulfill its educational role alone. As a community, Catholic schools are nourished and stimulated by the centrality of the word of Christ expressed through knowledge, service, scripture and sacramental tradition. "Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community" is a theme on which to build a spirit of the gospel to benefit the human family.
Catholic Schools Week is an excellent initiative to showcase all of the wonderful people and activities that set our school apart. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the reasons you choose to send your child to a Catholic school. We understand the sacrifices that our families make, and we are so thankful that you have chosen to be a part of Prince of Peace Catholic School. We are blessed to work alongside an incredible faculty and staff whose purpose is to help get your child to college and heaven.
In preparation for Catholic Schools Week, we asked our 8th graders to write an essay describing what makes Prince of Peace Catholic School so special. After reading their heartwarming responses, we are reminded how lucky we are to be a part of this great community.
