Frequently Asked Questions

Grandparents Day

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  What is Grandparents Day?

Each year, Prince of Peace Catholic School families invite their grandparents, special family members and friends to visit our school.  It is an opportunity for them to visit your children and experience the school first-hand.  We will meet for prayer, and celebrate our students and those important to them…their Grandparents!

Question:      When is Grandparents Day?

It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 am on Friday May 11, 2018.

Question:      What is the schedule for the day?

The day will begin with a continental breakfast and registration in the gymnasium followed by a program and then short visits to the classrooms.

Question: Can parents attend Grandparents Day?

We would like to reserve this day for those people close to your family that would not normally have an opportunity to visit the children at school. The size of our gymnasium makes it impossible to seat all students, Grandparents and parents. However, parents are welcomed to attend with a guest who may need special assistance. Parent volunteers are always welcome as well.

Question: How much walking is involved in the day?

Seating is provided in the santuary and gymnasium. There is some walking involved.  For those unable to climb the stairs, elevators will be available for visiting the fifth- through eighth-grade students on the second floor.

Question: Will our special friends and family be asked for donations?

No, we will not be asking for donations at this event. However, Grandparents will receive information in the mail about our community events, annual and endowment funds. There has been interest in information about opportunities to support the school. However, financial requests will not be made at Grandparents Day.
