Dallas Parochial League

Prince of Peace Catholic School participates in the Dallas Parochial League (DPL), the athletic organization serving the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Dallas. This organization sets policy and acts as an overall coordinator of the various sporting competitions it offers. DPL operates under the direction of the Diocese of Dallas Elementary Principal's Association.  DPL’s philosophy is the athletic department of a parochial school system should be a vital, contributing part of the total education system. It should be a working laboratory, where skills of being a team should be experienced. The objective of this league is to provide athletic programs with the emphasis on Christian principles and good sportsmanship at the amateur level and to organize and govern competition between teams representing schools of the organization.

Team Commitment

It is very important for parents and students to understand the value of commitment.  If your child is involved in other “outside” teams (i.e. select or recreational soccer, baseball, volleyball, etc.) you should strongly consider the time commitment involved before your child chooses to participate in a DPL sport.  It is the hope and expectation that if your child plays for a Prince of Peace team, they will participate in both practices and games as a priority.

Play Like A Champion

The Play Like A Champion Today™ Sports as Ministry (PLC) initiative supports Catholic leagues and dioceses in promoting: athletics as ministry to youth and families, building teams as Christian communities, character development, spiritual growth, intrinsic motivation and responsible decision-making. Attendance at a PLC workshop is mandatory for all DPL coaches.
