The main function of the Advisory Council is to advise our principal and pastor about issues facing the school, both current and more long-term strategic issues. The School Advisory Council is comprised of at least 9 members, and no more than 12 members, who serve three year terms. The Advisory Council is comprised of committed and talented people. Each of the members generally takes responsibility for working in one or more areas, generally related to their professional backgrounds. These areas broadly include: strategic planning, technology, risk management and legal policies, finance, development, marketing and communication, Catholic identity, facilities maintenance, and fundraising. In addition, members of the Advisory Council take on ad hoc projects as needed. The Advisory Council is not a “board of directors” or “board of trustees.” The Council provides advice and input drawn from the members’ professional backgrounds. The administration and faculty are responsible for the day to day operations of the school. The Advisory Council provides support and guidance, not oversight.
